St. Martin was a humble Dominican lay brother from Peru. His days were filled with nursing the sick and caring for the poor. Brother Martin was instrumental in founding an orphanage, took care of slaves brought from Africa and managed the daily alms of the priory with practicality as well as generosity. Among the many miracles attributed to him were those of levitation, bilocation, miraculous knowledge, instantaneous cures, and a remarkable rapport with animals.
“If we approach with faith,
we too will see Jesus….;
for the Eucharistic table
takes the place of the crib.
Here the Body of the Lord is present,
wrapped not in swaddling clothes
but in the rays of the Holy Spirit.”St. John Chrysostom
“God does not waste suffering, nor does He discipline out of caprice. If He ploughs, it is because He purposes a crop.”—

We are all God’s children. All of us.
We should celebrate the small differences between us. We are unique and special.
But we are all made in God’s image. We are all part of one race, the human race.
God loves us all.
